Onkyo introduces a Home Cinema Controlling Centre

Onkyo presents the HD capable TX-SR606 7.1 AV receiver. The device functions as a nerve centre for modern home cinemas and comes equipped with four specification 1.3a HMDI inputs. The hub also offers numerous ports so that it can adapt to even large entertainment centres. The TX-SR606 scales up analogue TV signals into the standard definition format of 1,080i and then feeds the high resolution content to the display device via the HDMI output. The Faroudja DCDi technology comes into play for de-interlacing. One comfortable feature: the acoustic measuring system “Audyssey 2EQ” allows the user to calibrate the speakers using the microphone, and correct any acoustic problems in the room.

The user can further optimise the sound at any volume using the Audyssey Dynamic EQ function. A digital signal processor delivering 32 bits guarantees for a full-bodied sound. In doing so the 7.1 AV receiver delivers 140 Watts per channel at 6 Ohms. Components that support Onkyo’s remote control system can be directly controlled by the user via the TX-SR606’s remote control. The entertainment system’s price hovers at around £380.
