This is the new entrant to the JBL family of the ES800 and ES1000 series in its home theatre surround sound department. The JBL ES900 Cinepack speakers consist of a Total of Five speakers and one Subwoofer, all packed in Five big boxes and weighing over 83 k.g.

The set of the five speakers consists of one Centre Speaker, Two Bookshelf Speakers and Two Floor Standing Speakers. The whole package is quite huge and is very imposing. The look is also very impressive and decent and comes in black ash veneer. The main speakers are the two floor standing speakers, whilst the bookshelf speakers, very much resembling the JBL ES 20 set, provide the backup. One is the right hand side speaker while the other is the front left side speaker. These speakers also come as separate set of speakers under the JBL’s ES900. The special aspect of these is that every range like the Mid-range, treble and the bass are controlled by separate elements in the speaker which results in a more balanced reproduction of the sound. The two surround bookshelf speakers including the Centre Speakers take the back seat. In fact the centre speaker specializes in movie sound tracks to bring clarity to vocal aspect or the dialogue with emphasis on the mid-range. Similarly the surround speakers add to the separation to the positional studio.

Similarly the Subwoofer which has a 10 in driver really compliments the five speakers with its massive power. It has its own amplifier and can be adjusted according to the requirement. The bass had the punch and died off pretty quickly. Similarly the tweeter in floor standing Speakers reproduces an excellent clarity and sharpness even at high volumes. Overall they are a great choice for quality music, whether it is a stereo music or the surround sound system.
