Operate without looking: introducing the MPIO FY-900 with a new key Layout
There is now a huge selection of mobile players. A manufacturer really has to do something unique and special to get any attention nowadays. MPIO is introducing the stylish FY-900 that can play videos, music and FM radio stations with 2 to 4 GB of memory – and offers a revolutionary button concept. The key layout allows the FY-900 to be easily operated – even without looking.
Fresh from development: the FY-900 presents itself as an extremely small and compact player that always ensures the user is accompanied by the right beats and even the right video for viewing. The FY-900 offers its own and completely unique key layout to go with its sleek appearance. The layout can be intuitively operated, because the keys can be recognised und used by touch alone, in case the user doesn’t have time to look, or doesn’t want to – such as when driving, jogging or in the heavily packed tube.
The MPIO FY-900 focuses on small embossed metal edges on the player’s surface, which can be easily touched and immediately switch to the next song, or replay the last song, when activated. To fingertip wide toggle switches, above and below the metal edges, adjust the volume. Additional keys are found in a circle around the keys we have already described. The other keys start and pause the playback, start recording radio programmes or activate the menu on the screen.
On to the menu. The player offers a 1.8 inch TFT LCD that doesn’t only display the menu and song titles, but also shows videos. The FY-900 supports the MP3, WMA, MP4 and ASF music formats. Videos must be in the AVI format to be played on the device. Anyone who so desires, can record audio notes or listen to radio stations. The MPIO FY-900 storage space depends on whether or not one chooses the 2 GB or the 4 GB model.
