Cowon, a South Korean electronics manufacturer of portable digital audio players and MP3 players, is gaining popularity among MP3 users for its functionality. Cowon has given us some exceptionally great MP3 players. One of their best models, the Cowon iAudio Q5 60GB, has a comprehensive 5 inch LCD screen which almost makes it look like a compact digital camera. MP3 players are usually not seen with this kind of wide screen. This wide screen is actually the Cowon model’s biggest attraction.

The front part of the player is dominated by the screen and there is hardly any interference from the buttons. The player measures 138.8 X 88.5 X 20.0mm in size and weighs 380 grams, which makes it somewhat bulky. It possesses an array of features like a WI-FI antenna, a mic-in, and an earphone jack. The player also supports USB connectivity. The WI-FI antenna and the microphone are located on the left of the player. On top is the power on/off slider key that doubles as the hold key along with the volume keys and two speaker outlets at its side.

The Cowon Q5 makes use of a touch screen and accordingly comes with a sleek stylus. Aside from the iPod touch, touch screens are quite unique for MP3 players and this feature really helps the Q5 distinguish itself. The only drawbacks are its size and bulk.
