iRiver Lplayer: Low Price and Stylish
If you’re looking for a fairly low price, portable entry level media player that supports a lot of formats, then the iRiver Lplayer may suit your requirements. It’s a small size player comparable to the iPod nano and has an attractive LCD display. It has used up all the space available very intelligently with an overall very pleasing aesthetic look and is very slim.
It uses D*click interface for the purpose of navigation of menu by doubling the edges of the screen and using them as buttons. This gives a very user friendly look with no other controls except just two buttons at the base. The display is two inches in size with a 320 X 240 resolution and it is of extremely good quality as a result, the menu looks attractive and is also well laid out. Similarly the contrast with excellent gradations from light to dark and well saturated colors also looks very impressive. While at the playback screen, just hold the pause button down for a few seconds, you get access to the audio option menu on the iRiver L-Player. You can also just drag and drop the files to transfer then to the Window PC. Different folders are provided for music and video files.
With the storage capacity of 2.0 GB it supports a whole lot of formats. On the video front some of the supports include WMV9, MPEG4 and the XVID. The Video files will normally play right away, however sometimes you may require the conversion software which is also provided. In the Audio category you have compatibility with WMA, MP3, FLAC, OGC and the ASF which appears to be impressive. Audio quality was clear and had the richness, when it was tested over the headphone.
A whole lot of features are available on the portable player, like the facility of playlist, creating your own equalizers or choosing from a pre-set available in the player. You have the facility of both loop and shuffle modes. Then you have features like picture or the text viewer. There is also a FM radio with the facility of voice recording. To sum up it gives its money worth.
