The iHome iH51 iPod Stereo System
The iHome iH51 is a compact stereo system for the iPod which features full-sized sound. This micro system totally believes in the concept of saving space and also doubles as clock radio. The iH51 system is comprised of a pair of satellite speakers, coupled up with a subwoofer in addition to the iPod clock/radio/dock charging base.
The position of the satellite speakers can be easily changed, thereby enabling the user to create a wider sound field. The dedicated subwoofer provided in the system helps in achieving a deep bass effect. This subwoofer can be manually controlled by a knob located at the back. While there are many iPod docks on the market with advanced speaker systems, such as the Klipsch Igroove, the iH51 manages to include a remarkable radio as well. The FM tuner is quite clean and bold, though there is some buzzing interference in the AM tuner.
The iH51 can be regarded as a streamlined version of the iH52 system where the parts have been scaled down or downsized to some extent. The twin driver satellite speakers have been dropped down to a smaller 2.25 inch single driver version. The subwoofers have been scaled down to approximately half the size, i.e. from 7.5 inches to around 4 inches. The initial cumbersome 18 button iPod has also been brought down to a more useful and manageable 15 button iPod.
It is a very reasonably priced product costing around £75. The iH51 is a home stereo system for iPods which transforms your beloved iPod into the both the perfect entertainer your pocket and home.
