John Blue JB4 MK2 Speakers: Attractive and Superior Quality
John Blue has kept up to their reputation for manufacturing superior products with the company’s new high-end JB4 MK2. The speakers’ looks are such that they immediately catch your attention, and the mottled cherry veneer, which looks very realistic, has been polished to give a satin Sheen outlook. The speakers are very solid and weigh about six kilograms each. The posts are placed on the back of the enclosure are copper plated and appear to be of very high quality.
On the face of the JB4 MK2 is a single full range driver and a thin port that has the basic work of radiating sound from the edges of the enclosure resulting in amplification of audio and also increasing the depth in the bass. The technology used in the single full range driver is very effective and the output is outstandingly clear and carries detailing and with the ability of JB4 MK2 to give high volumes out of low powered sources it is ideal match with an amplifier. In spite of being so small, they have the capacity of filling the entire room with good quality sound.
The Soundstage of the speakers is also very good and rich and it has the ability of creating sweet spots to reproduce superb sound effects, not seen in lower-end speakers like the WHD MX 50. Similarly the Treble is also very rich however you can also notice a blending of the natural music to reproduce a lively and sweet musical effect that forces you to fall in love with the system. There is also no irritating harshness at higher volumes, perhaps due to the absence of a dedicated tweeter.
The Mid-range is also engaging and the detailing effect is more evident in the middle frequencies rather than in the high frequency. Similarly Bass in the sound is also very tight and it seems to roll off quickly which does not allow the bass to overpower the total sound effect.
