Edifier S730: Excellent and Larged Sized PC Speakers

If you are looking for a set of large size PC speakers, then Edifier’s S730 2.1 system will suit your needs, as it is one of the largest systems around. While the size of the satellite speakers resembles that of a mini bookshelf set of speakers, the subwoofer is a sizable 37 cm in width, 38 cm in length and 50 cm in height. The system’s volume control and other basic controls can be operated with a credit card sized wireless remote control and other settings like the power and inputs of the subwoofer can be controlled by the wired remote. The PC can be connected through Optical and coaxial connections available with the system, while a DVD player or MP3 player can be connected via the RCA inputs.

Normally one would expect that considering the size of the subwoofer, the sound quality would be really overbearing. However, pleasantly enough the produced sound quality is very natural and at the default settings it is neither overly heavy nor is it disturbingly sharp specially. The treble and the mid-range especially are effectively produced at the default setting itself. The satellite speakers have a 1.5 inch tweeter dedicated to the treble which is normally the weakest in all kinds of PC speakers as a result the output is very crisp and sweet which leaves a pleasant feeling to the ears.

The mid-range is also reasonable and in case of games, one could enjoy the dialogue and the musical notes without getting distracted. As already mentioned this model could easily double as a great pair of iPod speakers via the RCA connection, despite missing the dock. Moreover, the bass is also balanced where you could feel the play of subwoofer dominant specially in sounds of a powerful kicks etc.

To sum up, the Edifier S730 gives the musical satisfaction with sound clarity and decent bass for all music lovers.
