John Blue JB4 MK2 Speakers: Attractive and Superior Quality

John Blue has kept up to their reputation for manufacturing superior products with the company’s new high-end JB4 MK2. The speakers’ looks are such that they immediately catch your attention, and the mottled cherry veneer, which looks very realistic, has been polished to give a satin Sheen outlook. The speakers are very solid and weigh about six kilograms each. The posts are placed on the back of the enclosure are copper plated and appear to be of very high quality.

On the face of the JB4 MK2 is a single full range driver and a thin port that has the basic work of radiating sound from the edges of the enclosure resulting in amplification of audio and also increasing the depth in the bass. The technology used in the single full range driver is very effective and the output is outstandingly clear and carries detailing and with the ability of JB4 MK2 to give high volumes out of low powered sources it is ideal match with an amplifier. In spite of being so small, they have the capacity of filling the entire room with good quality sound.

The Soundstage of the speakers is also very good and rich and it has the ability of creating sweet spots to reproduce superb sound effects, not seen in lower-end speakers like the WHD MX 50. Similarly the Treble is also very rich however you can also notice a blending of the natural music to reproduce a lively and sweet musical effect that forces you to fall in love with the system. There is also no irritating harshness at higher volumes, perhaps due to the absence of a dedicated tweeter.

The Mid-range is also engaging and the detailing effect is more evident in the middle frequencies rather than in the high frequency. Similarly Bass in the sound is also very tight and it seems to roll off quickly which does not allow the bass to overpower the total sound effect.

JohnBlue JB3 Bookshelf Speakers: Attractive and Versatile

The JohnBlue JB3 are real bookshelf speakers. These speakers are not only attractive and good looking, but also have the potential of being real versatile speakers and can competently handle everything-from high octaves to the bass registers at very low levels. These speakers which are relatively small with about 208 mm height, 129 mm length and 188 mm in width have the advantage of adjusting themselves practically anywhere you place them. The design is such that it covers the entire enclosure and besides being very practical gives elegance looks with a good black finish and smooth surfaces.

It has a single driver which is located in the front side of the speakers and even the back of the speaker is very neatly designed with the sleek gold plate holding the copper terminals of the speaker. The drivers of the speaker which are about 3 inches are developed in-house to ensure strict quality controls to reproduce a flawless sound output. Though the size of the speakers is relatively small, however music output is rich and warm and they can beautifully compliment the home audio set up as a secondary addition.

The Treble effect does not compromise on detailing of the musical beats and one can enjoy the beat of every single instrument in the orchestral music performance. A small driver is used to give the warmth at the mid level frequency and the mid-range ensures smoothness in performance. Even low level bass notes were quite impressive even with the absence of the dedicated subwoofers and large drivers. Indeed, unlike lower quality bookshelf speakers, like the Roth Audio Oli1 compact system, these JohnBlue speakers perform superbly at both highs and lows. The performance of the stereo imaging was also above expectations as the soundstage created had a distinct 3-dimensional impact.

To sum up JB3 speakers can be used as an integral part of the music system with CD player or with computers and can also form part of a good personal mini stereo setup.
