Recently the GoGear series of Philips has got another addition called Opus. It is an excellent audio video player that is optimised for superior quality music listening and stunning video experience anywhere you want. The Opus has got lots of potential as the company has tossed lots of exciting functions in this model such as options for online music subscription service, wireless audio transmission and an intuitive user interface.

The GoGear Opus offers sleek looks and portability for entertainment on the move. The GoGear ViBE is the latest media player by Philips. It offers lots of fun and entertainment in a compact form factor and an intuitive interface powered via advanced navigation technology. The ViBE is different from any other audio video player in the market. It’s been recently released by the company and is scheduled to make its debut in the US next month.

The GoGear ViBE ensures an enjoyable multimedia experience on the move. It has got impressive looks, easy navigation and innovative features. It also features an FM radio of 20 presets and with the touch of a button activate the automatic programming functions.

The AJ 301D is the latest iPod dock with an alarm clock to come from Philips. Because of its silver and glossy white finish it looks quite like a kitchen appliance. It suits best when placed on the side table with its solid build quality. Just in case if you are trying to think of skimping on the space, then please understand that this unit is little bit larger mainly because it is equipped with a large LCD screen.

There is a snooze button which allows to you to either dim the backlight or turn it completely off whenever this AJ 301D iPod dock is in standby mode. The left side of the unit features buttons for setting power and time and also an audio selector switch. There are five preset buttons on the right hand side of the unit and the snooze button is positioned on the top of the unit in between the two alarm buttons.

This AJ 301D from Philips has a docking station which supports all the iPod docks. It represents a slight upgrade over the Philips AJ300D iPod Clock Radio as well. Moreover, the AJ 301D also includes an auxiliary input on the rear end which enables any device with 3.5 mm jack to be plugged in. It has a small subwoofer that is built at its rear and therefore the entire unit is able to deliver a sound which is good enough depending on the size of system. There is a remote provided with this Philips AJ 301D iPod dock which allows you to skip the tracks, adjust the volume and play or pause the tracks.

Finally to conclude, AJ 301D is a capable hybrid alarm clock with iPod dock.

It’s a small size MP3 player, which takes successful qualities from other major manufacturers, like SanDisk, and Creative, and moulds them into one fine entertainer. It does, however, do away with the extra video and the photo features, and instead makes the utility features more intuitive on the operational front and at the same time concentrates on the quality of music playback.

The looks are pretty attractive and size pretty small with just 40mm height and a depth of about 18mm. The shiny silver just adds to the flavour and the square design just goes well with the handling of the player. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack with the power switch just next to it. The Philips SA 2845’s controls are also quite intelligently built specially the playback control which provides you with the facility of skipping a track just by a single press and for going back to the start of a song you can achieve this just by pressing the edges of the system. Further to climb up a level for selection of artists, album or even selecting any particular song, just use the back switch provided at the top of the player.

Further the sound levels can be changed by the button provided on the right side of the player and with the information always available on the screen about the songs, albums etc., the overall the controls turn out to be quite handy. Recording facilities are excellent and the recording microphone is highly sensitive with the capability of reproduction of the recordings even from a distance with tremendous clarity and recordings up to 4GB memory through the WAV Files of the player can further be downloaded through the USB Port to the P.C.

To sum up it is a handy easy to carry player with a good quality playback as compared to other brands in the same price band.

Philips has finally come up with a sweet MP3 player, which is in fact, a multi-purpose gadget. It’s called the Luxe MP3 player and has some stunning looks and contours. The body texture is like a jewel, in fact, the set looks like a piece of Kryptonite with mind blowing graphics.

Basically, it has been targeted towards female audiophiles and executives. It can be used as a broach as well. The Luxe’s main selling point is that, unlike other bland MP3 players like the Philips SA 3245, it offers constructive functionalities that can be used not only for entertainment, but also for the communication purposes. This is because with its built-in Bluetooth support, the Luxe can be wirelessly paired with a mobile phone. It then automatically pause the currently running track whenever you receive an incoming call and display the caller ID on its bright LCD display. The Luxe features 2 GB of flash based memory, a dual microphone, built-in FM tuner, LCD display and Bluetooth 2.1.

The sound quality is incredible as well. Philips has used its proprietary FullSound technology for delivering outstanding sound quality. The Luxe battery is powerful enough to provide lots of juice to run the player. In a single full charge it can offer 10 hours of playback and 100 hours of standby. It is available in two sparkling colours, Red and Silver.
