The AKAI MPC1000 is a compact sized music production beast, which combines an easy to use sixty four bit track MIDI sequencer, and a 32 voice stereo digital sampler, together with sixteen highly responsive performance pads and USB computer integration. The Akai MPC1000 is a combination of sampler, sequencer and drum, all in one rugged and useful package.
This sampler has inherited a lot features from the older MPC drum sampler series. In other words, it’s still an MPC through and through. It delivers amazing sound quality with a punchy midrange and midbass. The installation is a true example of plug and play, while the controls are very simple, and easy to understand and operate. The included sequencer is also one of the best hardware sequencers ever. This laptop sized unit serves as a portable and powerful DJ production tool.
The MPC1000 includes a flash memory port, which is the most inexpensive and easy method of storing samples on its 16 MB of onboard memory (which is expandable to 128MB). The Akai MPC 1000 is a compact, dedicated sampler or sequencer, which works very well with the computers. This sampler also features an onboard effects processors and one processor for the out effect, both of which can be used simultaneously. It also has the ability to resample its own output.
The Akai MPC1000 is a new member of the MPC drum sampler series. This sampler, which can be easily compared to a high school maths textbook in size, is very portable, but nonetheless packs some serious operational and sonic punches.
The DJM400 is the latest mixer to come from the flagship Mixer manufacturer Pioneer, and offers a complete digital mixing solution. It features the world’s first intelligent In-loop Sampler, all-digital mixing bus 24bit/96KHz and seven onboard effects. The DJM400 goes very well with Pioneer’s CDJ200 turntable in both functions and design. This helps any DJ to increase their range of remixing and DJing.
The In-loop Sampler is a sharp and smart sampler (24bit/96kHz), which first identifies the rhythm or the tempo of the song and then it samples it for a span of 4 beats, and then it finally loops this sample. This sample is automatically in synchronisation with the beats of the tune being played, therefore, it delivers an amazing piece of remixing. Samples are automatically compressed or stretched by the sampler to match the tune.
On board effects are able to detect the BPM and then sync with the beats accordingly. The Pioneer DJM-400 features 7 on-board effects: delay, filter, echo, robot, phaser, roll and flanger. All the effects are processed at 24 bits in order to achieve higher sound quality.
Each of the DJM400’s two channels has a three-band isolator equalizer with a complete cut capability. It also gives you the freedom to select the connection, and choose whether to use any of the two microphone connections or the stereo connection. It also has a talk over feature which automatically reduces or lowers the volume of the track being played, so that the DJ can speak over the track. The DJM400 also features a peak level meter which allows the user to keep a check on the input levels to each channel.
Bottom line, the DJM400 is an excellent and intelligent 2-channel mixer which gives the user the ultimate remixing and DJing experience.
